
CAIRO, Egypt – Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) has been crowned the “Best Islamic Bank in Egypt for 2026” at the prestigious Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards. The accolade recognizes the institution’s robust financial performance and sustained growth across its comprehensive suite of Sharia-compliant banking operations.
Euromoney commended ADIB-Egypt for successfully cementing its footprint in the Egyptian market. The publication highlighted the bank’s winning combination of product innovation, rapid expansion of digital services, and balanced growth across both retail and corporate banking sectors—all executed within a strictly Sharia-compliant framework.

The award reflects a period of remarkable financial growth for the institution. By the end of September 2025, ADIB-Egypt’s total assets surged to EGP 325.8 billion, while customer deposits reached EGP 263.5 billion. Net customer financing stood at EGP 139.8 billion. Furthermore, the bank recorded a stellar 39% year-on-year surge in net profits, bolstered by one of the lowest cost-to-income ratios in the market.

In the retail banking space, ADIB-Egypt has consistently rolled out innovative, Sharia-compliant savings and investment products boasting competitive returns. Key offerings include variable-yield Sukuk, Wakala, El Ghina, and Diamond accounts, alongside an innovative upfront profit-payment campaign. These initiatives have successfully attracted billions of Egyptian pounds, reinforcing the bank’s undisputed leadership in the Islamic savings market.
Digital Transformation and Inclusivity
The bank has also aggressively advanced its digital transformation strategy. Recent milestones include integrating e-wallets with online banking platforms, connecting with the national InstaPay network, enabling self-registration via the wallet app, and introducing mobile-based branch appointment bookings.
Moreover, ADIB-Egypt has championed financial inclusion by upgrading services for customers with disabilities. This includes introducing Braille documents, enhancing branch physical accessibility, and training staff to deliver a more inclusive customer care experience.
Corporate Financing and Strategic Partnerships
On the corporate financing front, the bank’s portfolio experienced a massive EGP 31 billion expansion over the course of 2025. Notably, ADIB-Egypt orchestrated a landmark EGP 7 billion Islamic financing facility for the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA) to support vital pharmaceutical sector reforms.
The bank has also broadened its trade finance partnerships with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), while rapidly expanding its digital remittance and payment solutions for corporate clients.
