Egypt will continue implementing its government offering programme by selling stakes in state-owned companies to increase private sector participation in the economy, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated.<\/p>\n

The planned stake sales align with the targets of the State Ownership Policy Document and aim to enhance the private sector\u2019s role across various economic activities, Madbouly said during a review of government restructuring efforts.<\/p>\n

Alongside the offerings, the government is proceeding with plans to restructure and improve the governance of state-owned enterprises. The initiative is designed to upgrade their operational and financial performance, maximise state assets, and boost market competitiveness, which Madbouly noted would positively impact broader socio-economic indicators.<\/p>\n

During the discussions, officials reviewed the reorganisation of several public business sector companies. This included an assessment of performance indicators, institutional reform plans, and the identification of investment opportunities to achieve optimal economic returns from the companies\u2019 resources.<\/p>\n

The updates were presented during a meeting focused on the governance of state-owned enterprises. Attendees included Hussein Issa, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance; Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Yasser Sobhi, Deputy Minister of Finance for Financial Policies; and Hashem El-Sayed, Assistant to the Prime Minister and CEO of the State-Owned Enterprises Unit, alongside other ministry officials.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
