FX volatility, shipping costs and EV adoption reshape Egypt’s automotive aftermarket

Badr El Din Automotive Accessories and Tuning has identified rising import and shipping costs, foreign exchange (FX) fluctuations, changing consumer preferences and the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) as key factors reshaping Egypt’s automotive accessories and spare parts market.

The company’s observations come as it participates in Autotech 2026, a three-day exhibition bringing together businesses operating in automotive spare parts, accessories, components and aftermarket services.

Badr El Din said import costs and product availability remained major challenges for businesses, as foreign exchange fluctuations and global supply chain disruptions affected purchasing costs, inventory management and delivery schedules.

Companies operating in the market are increasingly required to monitor costs, improve inventory planning and maintain supplies of high-demand products amid changing market conditions.

China remains one of the main sourcing markets for automotive accessories and spare parts supplied to Egypt, supported by its extensive manufacturing base and wide range of products catering to different consumer segments.

Technology is also reshaping demand, with consumers increasingly seeking accessories that combine design, functionality and modern features to enhance vehicle interiors and driving experiences.

Key product categories include smart screens, LED lighting, ambient interior lighting systems, vehicle protection films and vehicle customisation solutions.

The growing presence of electric vehicles in Egypt could also create new opportunities for the automotive aftermarket as adoption expands and demand evolves for accessories, equipment and components suited to EVs.

This shift may encourage suppliers to diversify their product portfolios and sourcing channels to respond to changing vehicle technologies and customer requirements.

Badr El Din’s participation in Autotech 2026 reflects its engagement with developments in the local automotive aftermarket. Founded in 1990, the company operates a distribution network covering Egypt’s governorates and maintains partnerships with international brands specialising in automotive accessories and customisation.

Commenting on the company’s participation, Badr El Din Gamal El Din, CEO and founder of Badr El Din Automotive Accessories, said the exhibition provided an opportunity to strengthen engagement with industry partners and customers while keeping pace with market developments.

He added that the event offered insights into changing customer needs and industry trends, noting that the company remained focused on expanding its product and brand portfolio in Egypt in line with evolving consumer preferences and market dynamics.
