The volume of general merchandise imports at Damietta Port recorded about 22.9 thousand tons during the past 24 hours, while the port received 9 ships and 11 ships left, bringing the total number of ships present in the port to 21 ships.
The media center of the Damietta Port Authority explained, in its daily report, that the imports included 9,196 tons of scrap, 1,100 tons of beech wood, 3,346 tons of iron, 3,000 tons of rice, 5,500 tons of corn, and 850 tons of miscellaneous goods, for a total of 22,992 tons.
The report added that the export movement of general goods amounted to 15.8 thousand tons, including 6,550 tons of urea and 9,334 tons of miscellaneous goods.
Regarding container movement, the port recorded the export of 1,790 equivalent containers, compared to receiving 26 equivalent containers, while the number of transit containers reached 984 equivalent containers.
The report indicated that the balance of the grain and grain silo belonging to the public sector in the port amounted to 100.4 thousand tons of wheat, while the private sector warehouses recorded a balance of 47 thousand tons. Truck movement in the port also witnessed remarkable activity, as the total entry and exit movements reached 5,254 movements during the same period.
